About Michelle

As a competitive athlete her whole life, Michelle's interest in sport & performance psychology came from a desire to provide athletes with the mental training she desired but did not have access to during her early athletic career. Being a multisport high school athlete, former collegiate gymnast, and current competitive CrossFit athlete, she understands the importance of mental toughness and personal well-being in athletic success. Michelle uses a strengths-based approach to performance enhancement, building on and using strengths to improve mental skills with a focus on applying to performance in high pressure situations.

In addition to having worked with athletes and performers on mental training for over 15 years, Michelle is also a Professor of Sport and Exercise Psychology teaching courses on sport psychology, exercise psychology, and psychology of injury. She has numerous intellectual contributions to the field including refereed journal articles, professional presentations, and book chapters, as well as funded grants. As a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC), she has been supervising individuals seeking their CMPC certification since 2014.

Originally from Long Island, New York, and now residing in Texas,  in her free time Michelle enjoys reading, exercising, and traveling to the best beaches around the world.
